No right is inalienable, except in platitudinous terms that do not help much in deciding hard cases of conflicting claims. We have an inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. So, can I trash my property, even if it abuts anothers, and causes him to suffer? No? But then, do I have to honor all complaints, or only all "reasonable complaints"? And what is the cut off for reasonable complaints? And when should the authorities back the complainer?
