Poet, so nice to hear your lovely voice in such great spirits!

To answer your question, no, we have not done the kind of extensive cleaning that you suggest, nor have we bathed the dogs.

Tomorrow we go out looking for a new house and new dogs.

It's ESP that you mentioned the flue. We do think that is exactly what happened, as we have been careless about leaving it open all the time. We won't make that mistake in our new house.

We put the squirrel in a trash barrel overnight (3:00 AM) while we caught some ZZZs and figured out what to do with it. The best we could come up with was just to let it loose in the woods behind our (former) house. When he spilled out of the barrel, he turned around staring at us with plaintive eyes. It was all we could do not to invite him back in for breakfast.

You know, Poet, I've always pictured you as a woman right out of "Song of the South" with a squirrel perched on one shoulder and a chirping chipmunk (or bluebird) on the other. Maybe I didn't get that exactly right.

:-) JC
