Nature is very cruel. We are part of nature.

A cat playing with a mouse is nature.

Animals pumped with growth producing chemicals,
confined so tightly that they can not turn around,
are denied natural light and slaughtered by the
tens of billions in abattoirs so over-worked
that they no longer can ensure a humane death
is not nature. It’s MONEY and its cruel.

Confining calves in a cage so it cannot turn,
stretch or lie down comfortably for months,
feeding them an all-liquid milk substitute
deficient in iron and fibre to produce borderline
anemia and the pale “white”flesh prized by
gourmets is not nature. It’s MONEY and its cruel

If I were in a position to raise my own chickens
and beef again, I would do so and fill my freezer.
But I’m not in that position and in my opinion
that is a very good reason to become a vegetarian.

As far as vegetables feeling pain – well,
if you say so.
