Beyond Tech and Energy - We need to get other sectors besides just being long & short tech and energy. Financial stocks are one of the largest sectors, and they are about 1/3 of the NYSE listings. (Hey, would you want to bank with a bank that was listed on Nasdaq ?) Here is a nice (selected, of course ) example - Washington Mutual, a West Coast based insitution. symbol: WM stockcharts.com[m,a]daclyymy[pb50!b200][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9] They also pay a 2.22 % dividend.
