How much did the GDP grow over decades prior to the 90s? What will be different about the next 2 decades that it will grow more or less? What are the components of estimates for the next 20 years that make it possible to accurately make such long-term predictions?

i think S&P might have to become 20 times US GDP. at least a much bigger portion than it has ever been.

I understand that the method of calculating the GDP has changed a lot over the years. Could that be an explanation?
