OPTV REC - FYI - AXXel
Opentv Corporation Class A [OPTV-13.12]. A break of $12 would put us to the buy side. If you want to talk back to your television set [and who doesn't given the icky stuff on it? If so, OPTV is your company. Revenues on a ramp-not so earnings…yet. OPTV designs, develops, markets and supports software and
related components to enable digital interactive television worldwide.
For the 3 months ended 3/31/01, revenues rose from $10.9M to $22.4M. Net loss rose from $30.7M to $130.9M.

A jump off the base was caused by this: "…struck a deal to become the first
interactive-television company to crack the China market. The Mountain View, Calif., company's agreement with Shanghai Cable Network, one of the largest cable-TV systems in the world, will mark the first interactive television system in China.

We like the base-after all, it's not any $225 a share [can U believe it…in March, '00?] and we like the fact that we are not likely to get this much lower after this period of base building that began in '00. Strong Buy-for spec investors with a seat belt. UPDATE 7.19.01: $11.96. No change. We have the break of $12…now how far will the break take us? We want some volume here…we will break ten for the buy signal but only on volume to the downside please.
