golf: << If nothing else the market environment for spinning QCT is horrible.>> The reason for the spin off have to do with management scope, and IPR advantage. The "market" makes no difference. There is no IPO involved. As earlier said, for stockholders of QCOM this is just a bonus of an extra piece of paper. No change in ownership. Just form. Best. Chaz
