LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 1997--Sedona(tm)
GeoServices, a subsidiary of Scangraphics(r), Inc. (NASDAQ: SCNG),
announced today that it is demonstrating Sedona DMTool(tm) powered by
Oracle(r) Spatial Data Option (SDO) at the Armed Forces
Communications & Electronics Association's TechNet97, June 17-19th,
at the Washington, DC Convention Center. Sedona DMTool is an open
image/mapping exploitation application that utilizes the power of SDO
by managing both spatial and tabular data in Oracle Universal
Server(r).
The Image/Mapping Exploitation application, running under Sedona
DMTool is the only application powered by Spatial Data Option at
AFCEA TechNet 97.
Sedona DMTool allows seamless interconnection among unlimited
data servers and data types, including geospatial information, such
as satellite imagery and maps. Sedona GeoServices has created the
next generation open-client geoprocessing application and data
management software built on Oracle Universal Server.
Both Sedona GeoServices and Oracle are members of the Open GIS
Consortium (OGC), an organization of over 70 commercial,
governmental, and educational entities dedicated to open systems
approaches to geoprocessing. "Oracle believes that implementation of
open-systems approaches to geoprocessing will create a mass market
for spatial technology. Sedona GeoServices' first application
powered by SDO is a big step forward in creating that market", said
