One of the most difficult tasks in politics is to nationalize the House races in an off-year. Gingrich did it successfully in 1994, and the damage done to the left as a result is his historical legacy. Continued Republican emphasis on the Democrats wrong-headed determination to reverse the refund of some of the money that the productive sector has been overcharged could serve to nationalize the House elections in 2002. Each Democrat House candidate should be compelled by their opponent to state whether he/she supports the planned heist by Gephardt and his henchmen of the meager tax cut they couldn't stop. Despite the left wing propaganda and fantasy, voters vote for tax cutters. As Paul Begala would say, "Please, PLEASE! run 2002 on raising taxes. PLEASE!"
