HK PRESS: PCCW Still Exploring Job Cuts To Reduce Costs Updated: Monday, July 23, 2001 08:25 PM ET HONG KONG (Dow Jones)--Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (PCW, news, msgs) is studying cost-saving measures that could include further cuts to its workforce, reports the South China Morning Post, quoting unnamed company sources. It said the measures would include reducing staffing through attrition and reductions could start as early as next month. The report also said some staff cuts could happen as early as this week when PCCW announces the formal launch of its Guangzhou calling center. PCCW has about 13,000 employees, of which roughly 10,000 are employed in the fixed-line division, it said.
