It is career politicians who want to hide the damage from citizens. Dominici is just as much a schmuck as any Democrat, for instance. Campaign Finance "Reform" is pure BS. If McCain and his hypocrite followers were honest, they'd be fighting for term limits instead.

Bush will most likely have to veto at least one appropriations bill this fall (unless they trade him a significant policy win, like capital gains tax reductions). He should widely-publish two lists from that bill:

"The 10 Biggest Budget Busters"

&

"The 10 Dumbest Wastes of Taxpayer Money in the Bill"

Even the simple-minded left wing media would run with the concept.
Unfortunately for us Republicans, both lists could be completely bi-partisan...
