Richard, you missed it. If your crows nest was in the New York area, you would have seen a meteor crash thru the atmosphere. It broke the sound barrier on the way down causing a sonic boom that broke windows and in mid day the sky was lit as the meteor exploded in the atmosphere before hitting earth. What a display of pyrotechnics. From the nest it would have looked like armageddon was at hand, hallelujah, a mass extinction was imminent, hallelujah, and gold was shining bright, hallelujah.
Unfortunately, when the dust cleared, life when on.
