ASTN at $0.76 at the close, up 17% from its intraday low of .65, down .04, or 5%, for the day. Total volume just over 150,000 shares (that's 75,000 x 2). Not exactly earth shattering, though it still sucks. And whatever else you can say about it, clearly it does not change the fundamental calculus on the investment.
Do you think 75,000 shares changing hands is the "market speaking"? I don't -- but clearly you do. I guess it's hard to remember what it was like when 1,000,000 shares of ASTN traded every day for weeks on end, and 7,000,000 shares traded in a single day. But it has happened before, in the Spring of 1999. That was the market speaking (a little ahead of itself, as it turned out). This is more like a mumble or two.
