Peter, the USA is already in the same decline as the British Empire if you believe the doomsters. I [along with hordes of others] am the capitalist who owns the USA. I [along with hordes of others] am the product of the Roman and British Empires. There is a tendency to think of the empire as the geographic locus of the empire of interest. In fact, the empire and capital are a function of the individuals.

The British Empire exported capital and people to Kiwiland. I've taken that capital and invested it in USA stocks, which create wealth in China and profits back to me.

The USA economy isn't just the stuff going on in Preoria - it's the centre of a global economy. Fortunately, Alan Green$pan is very aware of that and that he is carrying the world on his monetary skills, not just the USA. I have confidence in him and his buddies.

If Americans [via their voting system] wreck their country and empire [as the British did theirs], then the capital will flow out to the next best bet. China is looking increasingly interesting. finance.yahoo.com^SSEC&d=c&t=5y&l=on&z=b&q=l I am currently exporting capital to China [via QUALCOMM] and expect some very good returns there. But for now, the USA and Alan Green$pan are doing very well.

<Rome Britain who r they????> I'm right here and you are right there. It's a world made up of individuals, not Great Powers. Those 'Great Powers' are just a bunch of individuals acting more or less in concert for a time.

The Roman, British and American empires are alive and well, sitting here, putting pixilated pixels on your screen.

Making it up as I go, but that seems about right,
Mqurice

PS: Sign up for PayPal and email me money [I got my first cyberspace $5 yesterday, which was quite exciting, having waited for years for eudoracoin to be invented - they give $5 to the person who introduces a new USA account] paypal.com They will be a better currency than Alan's in a few years - well, perhaps not better, but certainly bigger than a lot of national currencies, which it is already bigger than now that I think of it]
