Sceptics cane Telstra

Jul 25, 2001 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Shares in Telstra dropped by
$A0.05 on 24 July 2001, to close at $A4.97. The Australian telco hovered above a
three-year low, reflecting market concerns about its growth rate. The firm also
reported the issuing of a $A500 million domestic bond on 24 July 2001. Its Asian
joint venture partner, Pacific Century CyberWorks, was recently forced to cancel
a bond issue due to lack of market interest. The heads of the Reach and Regional
Wireless ventures, Alistair Grieve and Hubert Ng, will speak in Sydney on 26
July 2001.
