Web Sites

Joseph,

I agree - the CBOE's Learning Center (http://www.cboe.com/LearnCenter/) is a good place to start. While there isn't really much there that isn't covered in the essential reading, it may be helpful towards reinforcing the information you've already learned. The Options Toolbox, which can be downloaded from the Learning Center, is a good example. It's really quite basic but it does help illustrate the ideas. There are also other useful items on the CBOE site like the options expiration calendar (http://www.cboe.com/TradTool/ExpirationCalendar.asp) or the free delayed quotes (http://www.cboe.com/MktQuote/DelayedQuotes.asp).

Other good starting points are Bernie Schaeffer's web site (http://www.schaeffersresearch.com/index.asp) and the Optionetics web site (http://beta.optionetics.com/default.asp). Yes, they are aggressively selling something (lot's of things actually) but the sites still offer a fair amount of free and useful information. I think that it's good to start with the free stuff because there will be plenty to pay for later.
