NV I believe the high "cash level" you see are the funds kept
in Money Markets by the individual investors. Not in the stock funds
themselves. You can see the allocation of individual mutual
funds from info on Yahoo. They are pretty fully invested, and do not
go to large % cash.
They need to be fed for overall prices to increase,
meanwhile stock sector/classes can improve pricing generally at
the expense of others. My own 403b is about 30% stocks now only
because I've withdrawn cash to money market - the managers keep the
funds fully invested, otherwise 1% change would be a $20b effect. I would
have taken more out sooner, if I was sure the rollover was gonna happen
like it appeared a few months ago.

Who has expected a big rebound? You are repeating things
youve heard from the touts on CNBS. Everybody trying to 'splain
the market by the behavior of "investors", a mythical group.
Turn that noise off and you'll be less whipsawed.
