Tommaso, those people who like to draw lines on charts to predict the future should pull up a long term graph of the DJIA. Draw a straight line from 1982 to about 1995 (which was the end of normalcy) and you would project a dow at about 5,000 and change. Note: this works best with linear scale plots.

Another interesting thing I noted when I did this on Yahoo was that after the depression it took until about 1955 to reach previous highs. Think it could happen that way again? Note: this works best with log scale plots, otherwise you can't see the 20's boom clearly.
