Yes, I fully realize the advantages of going with a switch. However, I only have "a few" devices on it and the odds that they would need any meaningful bandwidth at the same time is minimal. Of course, the price for a switch is only marginally higher these days, so the real reason lies in the advantages of a hub: being able to seperately monitor the network traffic that arrives at another computer. There are quite a few very useful (legal) uses for this.
