Did I miss anything while I was away?

Seems not. It was really wierd to be totally dislocated from the Market for a couple of days. Running around a college campus (at least I got some exercise) and listening to clueless academic types that are going to teach my son to be a man was really entertaining. OTOH the power that was represented by the youth in this environment was unreal. This orientation was mainly for the "honor's" group, which represent about 3% of the incoming freshman class. Knowing that the "Jungle awards the cunning a bounty of the foolish unaware," it saddens me to know that some 50% of them will fall prey to environmental hurdles, and, even more so, to know that youngest son may (MAY) be one of them. However, it was more fun, from my perspective, to watch the difficulty that the academic world has in dealing with a freshman entering as a junior. The bureacracy just has a difficult time thinking out of the box.

It was fun to watch him process the info on the way home. It went between 1) I'm going to only tolerate their silly rules for one semester, to 2) how can we defeat their T1 security. This college has the lion by the tail!

JT - As noted, there is no hurry on determining entry points.

RR - Really sorry I helped convince you not to buy those cube puts.

TM - The minor commitment didn't hurt considering the gains you experienced last week; it was worth the shot that we would get a bounce after yesterday's sell-off.

MG (wherever you are) - Those green numbers that you force us to look at are getting smaller.

We have been here before -- the charts are broken, but not broke. Geez - it seems like I have said a number of times that manana tells the tale. I have felt for some time that the trend lines - up and down - are currently useless - but stay away from those upper lines. As long as OEX 598 holds, we are reasonably Okay. If it breaks, I would suggest that trying to catch the falling knife would be hazardous to one's financial well-being.

I expect up from here. To that view, I expect that I'll commit in the morning. That said, if we pop, I'll stand aside, as buying into a pop has not proved to be a rewarding strategy lately. IMHO There is a difference between an absence of buyers and a sell-off opportunity. OTOH All need to understand that my game is a little different in that I only want to beat the SnP. In this light, I really want a pop in the SnP, as I just cannot bill the owners of the ships in my Phleet based on my out-performance of a badly negative number.
