But they produced quite a few more of them, and AMD has kept the paper value of its Plant, Equipment, and Goodwill pretty much constant over the period - they aren't hiding costs as investments.

AMD revenue over the period was:

Q4 00 1,207
Q1 01 1,175
Q2 01 1,189 - almost flat.

Whereas Intel's was:

Q4 00 8,731
Q1 01 8,702
Q2 01 6,677 - a big drop.

Yet Intel shows a big valuation increase in Plant, Equipment, and Goodwill while AMD does not.
