I'm no fan of MC these days...he's on tenterhooks as far as I'm concerned. However, it IS true that CPQ is a steal vis a vis Dell when you compare them on several other standards besides PE ratio.

That said, it all depends on how you view CPQ's future. I'm on the fence. I think it's still pretty good EVEN IF they remain primarily hardware oriented.
Dell is basically screwed in the long run. As much as MD likes to preach low cost market share gospel, his primary source of income is not going to light any fires soon, and his method of moving product (cut prices) is a known losing proposition over time. Very few highly intelligent CEOs have run market winning games like this and wound up a "winner". There's always somebody else who benefits.
