Charles,

You are, of course, absolutely right about message #272. I did write that, although that was certainly not what I intended to say. My "intentions" are better expressed on the report on the Web Site, and that is why I headed readers in that direction.

I also agree with your point that "bad stocks can go up and good stocks can go down". When bad stocks go up, I just wave goodbye as they pass, and thus I avoid participating in the lengthy forums on stocks such as GIFS, BRE-X, etc. where "investors" plaintively ask whether the stock in question will ever be worth anything in the future. When good stocks go down...well, I see that as a buying opportunity.

Re your comparison between MTY and DWSC;

1. MTY is an AMEX stock and thus is not subject to the manipulation which can be seen with DWSC. You are hopefully aware that stocks normally do not gap upward at the open by 30-40% without significant volume....but many stocks that receive this type of "promotional support" do exactly that.

2. MTY has been critically analyzed by The Napeague Letter. TNL attempts to explain both the good and the bad aspects of the stocks that it follows. To be specific, TNL is only following 6 stocks right now, and of these, it has put out largely negative reports on three of them (CLZR, TRNT, and ABIX). I want The Napeague Letter to be more like a "Value Line" and less like the "tout sheets" that are blasted out to everyone on the I-net.

Think for a minute....Do you really feel that the write-up on DWSC presents a balanced view of this stock?

3. These "tout sheets" are, in fact, blasted out in very large numbers! I don't know how many people got the latest write-up on DWSC, but it was certainly a huge number. The Napeague Letter goes only to those who ask for it by e-mail, or who visit the Web Site.

I don't want TNL to add to the clutter on the I-net. I regularly am contacted by people selling software which will automatically collect the e-mail addresses of everyone who has posted to a particular newsgroup (including this one, I think...), so as to allow me to e-mail to the world. But I won't do that. But I do wonder how many people got the latest write-up on DWSC....

4. Last....just to set the record straight, The Napeague Letter first analyzed MTY when it was at $2.75, and it is now around $3.50, where it has been building a base for several months. Which direction do you think that MTY will move from here? DWSC is around $10.00 today; do you think that DWSC will move to $12.50 and stay there? Or do you think that it will "move south"...?

For any "lurkers" who might be interested, the Napeague Web Site is at napeague.com.
