H.K. Cancels Securities Trading Wednesday as Typhoon Yutu Hits Jul 25, 2001 - 12:56:26 HKT Quamnet News Service The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (0388) said Hong Kong's securities market will remain closed today Typhoon Yutu passes through the city. The Hong Kong Observatory raised the No. 8 typhoon signal slightly after midnight, and expects to keep it at that level for the next few hours. Under the arrangement of the HKEx, the city's sole marketplace for stocks and futures, local securities trading will be canceled for the day even if the No. 8 signal is still hoisted at 12:00 noon.
