Tushar, Good point regarding writeoff of goodwill amortization costs!

It seems that it will be a drag on earnings for the next
couple of years ($0.6B/quarter X 8 quarters = $4.8B) before
it can be brought down to a reasonable level from $6B.

I am surprised that none of the analysts saw fit to mention this.

In light of this, how should Intel's earnings be viewed?
I think, like Nortel and Microsoft, they should get it over with.
It will make the forward earnings much better.
