"like maybe the world will be buying a billion cell phones in the next 10 years?"

Flash has potential for a lot more than flash. The shortage last year was so severe that there were many projects that got shelved because you couldn't get samples or product for small production runs except at prices that were insane. We were being quoted 38 weeks plus for production quantities of flash last year. No company is going to release a product under those circumstances. Now that there is supply, some of those products are going to be dusted off and make it to production. There are also others that are going to be designed now. At current pricing per bit, you will likely see some products that are practical now that weren't practical before. The electronics industry goes through these cycles all the time, with the low points making practical new products that soak up the excess. This time is not unique, except that there are a whole lot more things that can be done with the integrated processors that exist. Displays are still expensive for graphics units, if a way is found to produce a decent quality QVGA for under $10 or $5, a whole new world will open up...
