Tim, are you talking about the three dimpled counties, PB, Dade etc. or are you talking about all the counties? If its the latter, yes Gore got a lot more votes from the recount because the pro Bush counters couldn't play with the vote anymore.......there was way too much public scrutiny.

Primarily the three dimpled chad counties. The public scutiny apparently couldn't stop the Democratic counters from having a bias for Gore.

In almost any other situation where the vote was viewed with such suspicion and where the candidate had such ties, there would have been a call for a revote.

I disagree. There has never been a revote in the history of US presidential elections. I am unaware even of a revote in elections to congress, but there has been congressional elections with more evidence of irregularities. The level of apparent irregularities in FL isn't much greater then that of many states in many elections. The difference is that FL was close enough that any miscounting or other irregularities were more significant.
