RESEARCH ALERT - Lehman starts four biotech stocks NEW YORK, June 18 (Reuter) - Lehman Brothers said it initated coverage of four stocks in the biotechnology signal transduction sector. -rated Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc (LGND) a buy. Cadus Pharmaceutical Corp (KDUS) and ONYX Pharmaceuticals Inc (ONXX) were rated outperform. -put a venture rating on Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc (ARIA). ``We believe that understanding the pathways of the signaling process improves the pool of targets one maywish to direct highly specific, often orally available, and strongly potent drugs,'' a Lehman report said.
