It's my understanding that consumer spending it the only thing keeping the US economy afloat. If that s
dries up, are you assuming corp exp. will pick up the flack?

Interestingly, in Japan, people save, and that is perhaps part of the reason Japan economy is suffering. But I heard(correct me please if I am in error) that the average household in the USA now carries something like $14000 in CC balance monthly. That equates to no less than $300/month in interest alone.

How can corp(tech) spending be justified if the consumer runs out of money?
