i totally agree, we are a long way from a bottom. but that doesn't mean we can't have a rally for a short while, so i don't want to get too complacent. short interest just hit 4 billion and the nasdaq held some key levels, if only for a day. i think bonds have one last gasp in them as people flee equities in a panic, but i don't think they will take out the 1998 highs at 4 3/4%. i think bonds have been in the early stages of a long secular bear market that will last for years.

commodities are emerging into a new bull market that may have started in Q1 '99, and they could be just retesting the lows.
