Hsu suffers heart attack (Reuters): Avant names Paul Lo president 7/25/2001 10:38:00 PM NEW YORK, July 25 (Reuters) - Avant! Corp, which makes software used to design semiconductors, named on Wednesday Paul Lo as its new president. Lo will replace Gerald Hsu, who recently relinquished the positions of president and chief executive after suffering a heart attack, the Fremont, Calif.-based company said in a release. It was not immediately clear whether Lo was also assuming the chief executive position. Avant's shares fell 14 percent to close at $8.72 on Wednesday.
