Thx for article. I don't know who I want to hug more you or Mr. Morales!

Lawd knows I'm margined to beat the band (as usual) and last two days have had me on egg shells. This news may help explain why Intel felt so confident in predicting a return
to 'normalized' seasonality.
Naz futures only up 5 points... but hey any port in a storm and it's been stormy weather.

snippet:

``Demand for PCs has been shrinking in the U.S., and demand is getting hit in Europe, but we have not seen this for Asia and we are quite optimistic about the second half of this year,'' Christian Morales, Intel Vice President and Asia Pacific General Manager, told Reuters in an interview.

Morales said Intel had ``not seen any significant pushback in information technology (IT) spending'' in the Asian region so far.

``We've had strong demand for our microprocessors, chipsets and flash products in this region in the second quarter -- Asia Pacific represented 31 percent of our worldwide revenues versus 28 percent in first quarter, and 26 percent last year,'' he noted.

``We have not seen the U.S. slowdown reaching Asia yet...and we do not see any factors that would impact (this growth) in the coming quarters,'' Morales added.

Wow is that last line bullish in a fog of most tech's uncertain future guidance. 'Coming quarters' ... if he would have said next week looks solid I would have jumped for joy.
