Can someone interpret what the following excerpt means ?

Are they going to give free access to their charting software and data feed in exchange for your commission fees for active traders ?

<TradeStation currently charges $300 a month for its stock trading software, which allows customers to pre-tailor trades for automatic processing when the criteria are met.

But the company ultimately plans to offer the software for free in an effort to win high volume customers such as financial institutions and daytraders, who buy and sell stocks constantly.

The goal, Davis said, is to harness rampant trading activity and boost the company's brokerage business, which charges a commission of $15 per trade.>
