Cushion the downside for the shareholders? They have accelerated the downside for the shareholders by providing additional supplies of gold to the market. This is a clear distinction between the hedging practices utilized by the gold producers and those employed by every other producers of commodities. There is no shortage of articles and analysis supporting this view. Ken
