I think it admirable that you have put so much time and effort into trying to understand the company and its market. I agree with you that you aren't responsible for doing the heavy lifting for others. But I hope you will be receptive to consideration of a more philosophical, perhaps academic point or two?

I found Matt Tomkins' piece in the World Ruler Newsletter and some of Paul Philp's remarks. This led me to research commentary on the boards

Here is the question. If you had not read Mr. Tompkin's piece, or Mr. Philp's piece, would you have "smelled pongid odors?" This question is really for everybody reading your Hunt report as well - do they, after reading it, become enthused to the point of belief? Or do they become interested enough to "continue to do the hard job of investigating them?"

admitted that I have not studied BEA's competitors.

Again, a philosophical point. Without that study, isn't it premature to be biased towards believing the pongid nature of a company?
