An interesting point is that many bondholders are being paid off and are therefore losing a source of income right now. (this is anecdotal, a friend of mine had 4 of 8 bonds closed out on him this past month and I have heard of a couple of other examples). This would seem to be tied to the lowering of the interest rates. And like you said, you can't make much money off of 2.5% interest rates.

The question is "when do interest rates become attractive enough for businesses to start spending using credit?
