Hi CB, the more I dwell on all the policy options now, and the various interest groups pushing on their respective policy alternatives, the more I think about the social/political pressure that will buildup against these very same policy alternatives, and in gathering strength as the equation of time does its work and the pain of any one particular set of policy alternatives begin to hurt. The interim adjustment made necessary by the general popular 'uprising' for any one of the policy set will drive us to either of two results, (a) nothing gets done, or (b) deflation, inflation, or something altogether nastier. Any positive outcome will like be due to tremendous luck, and not because of political skill of the global leaders.
Now, I believe in luck, and especially my good luck. I just do not count on it.

BTW, gradually but surely, this thread seems to be turning even darker than at the beginning of the year. Is it my imagination? |
