"I hasten to add "IMO" because there are those who would not agree with me. You had to qualify your "hasten" LOL!!

When debating one sometimes assumes roles one would not normally take. To your supreme credit the worst thing I ever heard you call someone was a "contrarian". And why not be a contrarian, in this world are any of us so satisfied that we should swallow the status quo, hook, line and sinker!

I still think Elian belongs with his father. I do to, but to be whipsawed by a third rate dictator was weak and should be beneath the dignity of the USA. One does not yield to thugs or brutality ever.

I think one of my fondest moments on SI was when I accused Emily Dickinson of being a Gore Gal! The responses were classic.

One of the most surprising moments on SI so far is when I said I could not see the difference between someone who accepts science on faith than someone who accepts Jesus as a prophet of God on faith. That sent Solon into a complete tizzy, like the time I told him to take his Rand quote down from his profile page and he said I was off my meds and that he had no Rand quote on his profile page. (and of course he does - or did)

The Tunguska event episode was hilarious to me. I had no idea when I said to cosmicforce the Tunguska event was an ultra-mafic that had blasted into the Siberian platform other than having worked with someone that had been in Siberia on an ultra-mafic project in the immediate area of Tunguska. When pressed I did a google search and found one way out paper with respect to the possibility an ultra-mafic was the explanation for the Tunguska event. Interestingly enough since that time several academics have published papers in respected journals that this may indeed be an explanation for the Tunguska event. Honestly, while I don't agree with him cosmicforce is a brilliant thinker, second to none, I will live to regret this post!
