Andrew, Coulter has a very nice info package. Ask for the 10K explicitly (I did not and I did not get it). The "standard" deal includes annual report, press releases, some press clips from BioCentury and others, and copies of the most recent analyst reports (Alex Brown, H & Q, Pacific). Coulter's phone number is 415-842-7300

The above contains full detail on the "pipeline" technology known as Super-Leu-Dox. Briefly, the idea is to attach a short peptide to a "typical" chemotherapeutic drug (in this case doxorubicin). This makes the resulting molecule inert, completely non-toxic and unable to get inside any cell. Now, many cancer cells have an eznyme in their surface that will chew up the Leu part (one of the amino acids), which allows the drug to get inside the cell and do the damage. That's "Leu-Dox", the "Super-" part is to take advantage of another enzyme found mostly *inside* cancer cells; this will make the drug toxic after it gets inside the cell and only if the enzyme is present. This will minimize toxicity to normal cells that "accidentally" swallow the drug perhaps because they were sitting close to a cancer cell. Bottom line: more specific chemotherapy. In principle, the same idea may be applied to something other than "Dox", even something so toxic that you would not think of using it in the typical "shotgun" chemotherapy. A cute picture in the annual report explains this very well.
