Realistically they are reducing head count by attrition and retirement but may also be letting contract workers go too. Let's face it, business sucks relative to the level of business that they were doing at the end of 1999. The main point is that key sales staff, service staff and key engineers are being kept on. They have to make sure that the entire line of servers work properly with th US3 chip.
