Thanks BirdDog, though not much encouragement. OK, maybe so, and the concern is real. OTOH, all those patents, PhD's, and production facilities (being down-sized and modernized) ought to have some competitive advantage going forward, shouldn't they? Weren't JDS Fitel, Uniphase, Etek, SDLI, and all the others THE leaders in their respective fields?

The G&K thread has JDSU in its G&K portfolio, although there's debate whether it's a gorilla or a king. Still, kings do well, too.
