You keep pointing out that the ASP is so much better on laptops anyway. This is more important than the lack of desktops at CompUSA. Screwdriver shops sell a whole lot more desktops than CompUSA, but no where near as many laptops.

You know, I am waaaay long AMD, but this is the kind of reasoning and statement that provokes rebukes from the likes of Mr. Engel.

Having no AMD desktop SKUs at CompUSA means that HWP and CPQ are not buying AMD CPUs. AMD's hard-earned marketshare could be completely wiped out.

It would be very very useful to find out why this sudden scarcity of AMD SKUs. What's going on here - are they prepping for new models for Back-to-school?

Perhaps AMD is going to stealth introduce desktop Palomino?

Perhaps Intel is using its size to squeeze AMD out by offering the big shops an offer they can't refuse?
