Copper (LME-monitored inventories of copper in warehouses worldwide fell 1,125 metric
tons, the first drop since June 20, the exchange said in its daily
warehouse report. Inventories had climbed 83 percent this year to
654,325 tons as of yesterday, the highest level since June 2000,
as slowing world economies reduced demand from builders and
manufacturers.
