I’ve done a very superficial and spurious look at 3D before getting sidetracked and off on a tangent of mystery and speculation. I’ve just looked at the homepages of Tetratel, DDE, and Isee3D. I haven’t looked at their financials or anything and really don’t know much more about the companies than when I started. It’s interesting; but I’m tied up doing other stuff.
I got into it just a bit because of Tetterington’s inside trades in Tetratel. It seems to me that he’s played this game before and sells into the rise with cheap shares and screwy news. Biotech in Richmond does something similar. They actually make bath beads but claim to be curing Diabetes Type II throughout the third world and issue old news every once in a while from their roladex of hoary news items. IMHO, of course. Lots more examples.
Anyway, I found one thing above all to be interesting in the world of 3D. This is in VisuaLABS technology or lack of it. Apparently, the whole thing has been a scam laid out by Sheldon Zillet and his unfortunately named wife Joy. They’ve since been rode outta town by the posse. The stock has been halted since July 23rd. It seems Sheldon has been just buying regular plasma type TVs--they’ve got the receipts--and playing his magic tape through them to make them look like 3D. He’s been getting away with it for years apparently.
I’m thinking that for the con to go on for that long, THAT MUST BE ONE HELL OF A TAPE.
From VisuaLABS news for today: “The special committee has concluded that the 3-D effect demonstrated by the company over the years is, in fact, generated from the content of the tape and is not the product of electro-optical or other hardware modifications to display devices. The precise manner in which the 3-D effect is achieved in the demonstration tape and the ownership of the technology to create the demonstration tape is unknown to the special committee, although Mr. Zelitt has advised that it is owned by VisuaLABS. “ I think a lot of stuff may be “unknown to the special committee”, I mean they named their product “GroutFree” it sounds more like an innovation in bathroom tile than in 3D.
I find the prices on the DDE TV to be more than a little steep at 5,000 perogies for the 15 inch set, mind you, they’ll come down I guess...they also seem to want to bathe your face in ultraviolet light for the game version to work. I don’t know, I’m still wondering if all those black lights were really good for us ‘way back when.
Just a few thoughts...but hey, what about that tape...how did Zillet make it? Can he only think in terms of the con and didn’t realize what he had all along? Wouldn’t that be ironic. It’s been a great con though, one for Andreas Shroeder. I’m looking for Zillet to reappear in the hairy-knuckled porn industry...now there’s a growth market especially since the miracle of Viagra.
Oh well, it’s amusing to peruse such things while we wait for the Yanqui dollar to tank and gold to surf the Elliot wave we’ve been looking for. Wax up the boards. Surfs up...almost.
BTW, you may want to look into brown kayak paint. The projected provincial revenues on the Charlottes’ oil reserves would be about $45 Billion.
