overall put/call is pretty low, but look at the volumes today in DOW puts and calls

Can you explain how the overall put/call is so low while the indices have seen a lot of put buying -- I am referring to the numbers at the right of the 1st table vs. the figures in the next table for DOW, SP100 and SP500 ...

I guess it means that the equity call buying is "skewing" the numbers toward a lower p/c -- p/c for the indices aren't all that bearish??
