What's important is that Compaq is free to design and market products the way they feel best suits their prospective clientele. It only makes sense to incorporate AOL since they are more likely to provide support for any Linux machines Compaq sells thereby providing a continuity of services on both platforms that is not possible with Microsoft products alone. Those customers who prefer the less popular MSN can of course always download the software required and configure it themselves; a simple process I'm sure.
