Poet, Banty hens are the sweetest little
chickens to have on a farm. They're
great mothers, and if you let your chickens
run free, Banties unlike other chickens, will
hide their nest until all the eggs have
hatched and then come marching out with
her brood behind. They seem to know that
we want their eggs! Only problem with them
is that they're good fliers and if you're
wanting to eat the eggs you have to keep
them in a pen with netting on the top.

We couldn't find our banty for the longest
time and then discovered her hidden nest -
setting on about eight eggs. Next day we
went to check and she was dead and all her
eggs broken and eaten. We figured it was
a skunk.

:-(

ps - very strange indeed to get an egg from
a banty rooster (vbg)
