So that's why you know so much about this, Rose. That is neat. I'll bet you were pressed into service from an early age.

I was fascinated to see that my cousin feeds her chickens the leftovers from the kitchen (Polvie: if you're reading this, say "kitchen chickens" three times fast) and that they even eat chicken, eggs, and leftover shells. Eek! Will eating eggshells increase the yellowness of the yolk?

I'm trying not to think too much about the young pullet thing, out of deference to my fourteen year old. -g
