The Falklands: Offshore Oil Exploration - AFX (UK), July 25 As far as offshore oil exploration is concerned, Falkland Islands Holdings PLC has recently taken a 10 pct interest in the Falkland Hydrocarbon Consortium which is being led by Dana Petroleum. The Consortium is currently negotiating with the Falkland Islands Government for licensing in the Falkland Islands offshore designated area. It is anticipated that a firm application will be lodged in early August. The board said this initiative could represent a significant opportunity for the company.
