trip

i've been a dodger fan over 40 years. as a little kid i saw duke snider play and wally moon and those guys. i lived near philly and my dad used to take me to connie mack stadium when the dodgers would come into town to play the phillies.

late at night, as a little boy, i used to listen to dodger games on my transistor radio. the 3 hour time zone difference had 7:30pm west coast starts happening at 10:30 pm east coast. i remember one 16 inning game that ended with willie davis stealing home to win the ball game. ironically, davis was the fastest man on the team, but not the prolific base-stealer that maury wills was.

i remember willie davis dropping three fly balls in center field in one inning in a world series against the twins. amazing, huh?

like they always say, in baseball, you see something different almost every time you watch.

i have tickets for the dodger-giants at pac bell park september 14, 15 & 16. hopefully the dodgers are far enough out in front to where the darn giants can't knock them out of contention, as has been the case in some years past.

:)
